That is the question.

My new y7 block is @ stock specs 75mm bore (zero miles on a virgin block/crank, factory cross hatch is visible) my Arias pistons are 75.05mm so bore/hone work is needed. The extra .05mm = .0019 inch...a pretty small amount as far as over boring goes.

Ive never personally done bore work. I want to know if its necessary for the machine shop to "bore" it when its such a small amount? Or can that amount be removed from a simple hone?

I have a good bit of $ sunk into this build and want the rings to seal well.

Thanks guys

This thread is boring...

Ok, in all seriousness; get a machine shop to fit the pistons for you. It'll cost around $100 from the quotes I've gotten, and you'll have the peace of mind that they fit just right.
