heres my set up y7 block with a z6 head and a d15b cam,

now for the problem, when i set my timing on the red mark on my pulley i gotta have my distributor retarded all the way to have the timing on, on 18 degrees with my timing gun, if i set it on the single mark on the pulley, its the other way around, advanced all the way, ive tried both z6, y7, and y8 cam gears and it does the same things, any ideas?

i might be way off !!!!! but you might need an ajustable cam gear ,
as you said you have D15B cam in a z6 head !!!!!
you might be 1/2 tooth out with the timming belt

^^^ I am pretty sure you are right except it is more like 1 tooth.. it is like putting an ef dx cam into and si head or vice a versa

Si is correct. Just get an adjustable cam gear and that should fix your issues.
