so yea my timing belt broke the other day and i'm getting ready to put it back together. my question is, the marks on the cam sproket tell me its top dead center. piston 3 is top dead center in the cylinder. the dizzy is at piston 3. So anyway if piston 3 is top dead center and the cam is top dead center when i put the new belt on and put it back together it should be right...right? the motor is a d15b7

As far as the block goes one and three will both be on tdc, as far as the head goes I always line the groves in the gear even with the head.

not to be an ass, but are you trying to make this more difficult? like a little puzzle or something? Just put it together right.

Turn the crank about a 1/4 turn (all pistons halfway down), then spin the cam to #1 TDC, the move the crank back the 1/4 turn to TDC. EASY)

I guess you could set it up with the cam 180 out, but you might not get the timing marks right, and then you'll have to do it again. :alky:
