THrottle Body from HELL! Help.

528 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  myHonda1
I have a loose wire i'm trying to figure out where it goes. Its connected to the IAT and it has one solid red wire and one yellow/black wire. WHAT IS THIS?

FYI I swapped a D15b Vtec into my car about 8 months ago and never really checked all the throttle body sensors. THe car has been idleing low and rough so I thought I'd break out the tools.

Also, can you guys tell me some things I should look out for when replacing the valve cover gasket? Thanks alot everyone.

ok, what kinda car is the d15 in?

and about a valve cover gasket...don't break the bolts/nuts!
while it's all apart you might wanna change the spark plug gromets too.
Yeah I got the gromets.

Sorry its a D15b Vtec motor swapped into a 92 Si. I did the swap myself so I'm sure I have some sensors plugged in wrong. I'm going to clean the IACV and see if that might be the problem. Both the IACV and IAT plugs are in the correct place. This loose plug really does'nt make any sense.
It could be theplug to the EVAC purge sensor,i dont have one either, so sensor plug is just hanging, I dont think that should hurt performance though, unless you mixed that plug with the IAT plug because they are similar, that would throw off the IAT signal and make the car run rich.
The car does seem to run rich. I get alot of back firing.

I just tried to put on this valve gasket cover and it does'nt fit. Is there a special gasket cover i need for the d15b Vtec?
Afternoon Bump. Looking for any help.

you probably got the valve cover gasket for the d15b7/b2 which are are completley different.

your going to need the same gasket for the d16z6 or the d16y7 & d16y8 will work too if i'm not mistaken.

thats my guess...
