Thinking of getting a Skunk2 mani and bored b16 TB...dyno's anyone?

Im sure this has been covered millions of times but I can't find what Im looking for so Im asking. Im considering a Skunk2 intake mani and around a 62mm throttle body. Im going to be running 10lbs on the set up. Think that mani/TB combo will give me sufficient gains over the stock y8 mani/tb? Anyone have any dyno's of a Skunk2 mani on a boosted d?

i think its been proven that a skunk2 intake manifold can make about 10-14whp on an NA engine (or was it boosted.........i think it was NA).

i saw the thread here on d-series i believe, but i couldnt find it again. ill keep trying to find it.
that would be great man, thanks

there ya go, no dyno charts but the claim is there. sorry it doesnt have the charts, i thought they were there but i guess i remembered incorrectly. and it doesnt say whether the motor was boosted or not. but anyway, i think the only way to get the most out of the IM is to retune the setup after you install it................

good luck, ill also be using the skunk2 IM on my boosted setup.
im pretty sure you wont get power gains from a bigger tb, just better throttle response. As to the skunk manifold, im 100% sure you wont get 15 hp on a n/a set up. Boosted though, that could be a different story
What is your set-up? i see stock internals, i know personally i would use that money and put it aside to get some rods and pistons. at the end of the day, winding up the boost on a built block will net you a heck of alot more power then the manifold and TB. I'm not sure on your situation so this may not be feasible for you.

yes he will see more gains with a larger throttle body if it is port matched, which it will be if hes using the skunk2 manifold, especially with boost. it may not be alot of power, but it will definately be there. throttle response will be helped out alot.

at 10psi..............doesnt need to worry about it as long as he has a good tune. hes prolly not running a huge turbo @ 10 psi anyways. stock d's with a good tune can run 200whp on stock internals all day long with good reliablility, d's with great tunes can run 210-220 whp on stock internals all day long with good reliablilty.

no.

yes.
I am eventually going to buy rods, pistons, and a zex 59300 cam but right now Im just looking to get everything flowing good and to get everything I can out of the motor at 10lbs w/ out going inside of it. Thanks for all the replies. If anyone comes up with a dyno, please post it up. Thanks again
ugh.....Skunk 2 intake manifold and a B16 TB should yield around 8-10 WHP~
You might see more if your tune is better.....but dont count on it...Personally, i think the Skunk 2 is a bunch of CrapOla....Ported out Z6 IM and Bored LS TB will do same shit.....if done right, and lest.....if i was going to go with a new IM it wouldnt be a Skunk....mabe for B series....but they do stink....haha Edelbrock, has a nicer manifold.....and the company is backed by 50 years of car building....
pretty damn close to what im getting, Performer-X with a 62mm ported B16TB....
Hmm...well to me 8-10whp is a lot for just upgrading the intake system a little more. And for the money, that's not to bad at all. The Skunk2 is a cleaner intake mani than any OEM mani and I think is cleaner than the Edelbrock. The edelbrock has they little angle for the throttle body which I hate (even though it probably actually helps in some way).
I gained 13.2 whp with tuneing via s200, but i had all the parts listed in my sig. Its a good manifold and worth getting
Its the not best but its better than stock.. Your looking for plenum volume with forced induction... Im not sure who has the most for the D mani's. Ive often wanted to mate a B series Victor X to a D flange...
whats the bore on the skunk2?
62 mm

But my .02

Edelbrock = 65 mm tb opening (ability to be ported to 70 mm)
Skunk2 = 62 mm tb opening (sohc, 64 mm for dohc)

Edelbrock = 50 state legal (oem "replacement")
Skunk2 = pending EO approval

Edelbrock = love from domestics
Skunk2 = love from other imports

Edelbrock = $250-300 off ebay
Skunk2 = $229-300 off ebay (as low as $155)

I just when with what I could get cheapest. Turned out to be a Edelbrock, pick up off of ebay for $175 shipped (first one the guy ever sold, now he sells them for $250).

why would you waste the time putting a b manifold on a D??? Buy an aftermarket one that fits correct, and get a good port job. It dosent matter how huge your pleniums and runners are if you can only put X amount throught the intake ports on the head.

Not a bad idea but I think you'd have better chances with cutting down a stock mani to around the same size, re-welding it and porting it out a bit.

I haven't really heard any complaints from Skunk2 manis other than fitment in EF's (which isn't going to stop me any). 62mm S2 with a B16 bored to 62mm and portmatched ftw!

the skunk 2 is pretty much identical to the edelbrock and is cheaper ;). I don't care if Vic Edelbrock himself stuck his dick in it and made sweet love to it. It's not worth the difference in price. I'm running a skunk 2 mani on mine and has been fine with the fac tb so far. It dynoed at 195 whp on a dynapack dyno at 8psi-9psi. I'm putting on a different tb when I build it next year.

Yeah....but Skunk 2's quality control can suck ass from time to time....and they have fitmit issues with some civics causing you to bash in ur firewall some to fit the thing.....Besides...Edelbrock knows there shit, and i like the angled desgin of there manifold....gets shit out of the way....better brain storming if you as me...and we should have someone see the difference "if" any at all with both manis Turboed/Supercharged......i bet the edelbrock would come out on top...
