I have given up on getting this thing to pass emissions soooooooooo..........

I am leaving this weekend from phoenix to indio california, i am debating putting the turbo system back on for the trip, d16y7 stock internals, will be run with stock injectors, its a mitsu 13g/13b i can never remember if its a b or g, spring is 14psi but i wolnt let it get anywhere near that high,

is 5 psi to high of intercooled boost? stock tune

I will be getting it tuned later on for higher boost but that is not an option right now

so turbo it or leave it stock

Boosting with no tune is instant fail.

Leave it N/A until you have the oppurtunity to get tuned, OR start learning how to tune.

Going to California and WANTING to turbo your car is also asking for fail, as soon as you cross those state lines if you get pulled over, be prepared for hell.

Leave it stock and save yourself big headaches and possible towing fees.

IDK about all that considering my car was never registered out of state, I just know being pulled over with even a header gets you a trip to state ref.

Leave it off man, you don't have any sort of tune/tuning software, you WILL blow it up. I'm not trying to sound like a dick, just hoping to help you save lots of money and hassles.

Well take the advice, leave it N/A.

LOL, if only it was that easy, on top of the 1.5hr swap back to stock, you'll be paying possibly $500+ in fines, and wasting days going to state ref.

Its bad. Even if your registered out of state you'll still get a hard time because cops will be on your ass. Hondas dont do very well in the law enforcement department.

You dont even need to be boosted to get into shit with the law here. If your intake doesnt have a carb legal intake...citation/ref. no carb sticker for that aftermarket header? citation/ref.

And if he honestly wanna be a prick he'll aim for the aftermarket muffler and if it doesnt have a carb sticker. you'll be handed a fix it ticket or have a welcoming party at the state ref.

Or even know you want. Stock intake pipe but after market exposed air filter = fix it ticket.

wow good thing i am only gonna be there for a few months to make some cash
In that few months you can EASILY rack up $1k+ in tickets, and possibly lose your car.

oh how little people in this very state know about the laws...

30 days. you technically get a 30 day pass before you must convert your plates over. the only exceptions, that i know of, are military and out of state students.. permanent residence requires you to convert over. but do the cops check? nah, not really. just cant get pulled over more then once nor get a CA DL..

as for popping the hood and mods.. well, they can pop the hood, just cant do anything outside of enforcing the federal law standards for the car. the fed has no stand point on turbo-ing a car, that i know of, so long as the cat is still there and working...

oh and has to stay the correct obd for the car... so boosting is no good for anything obd2+

but again, this is only if you get pulled over. if you act correctly and drive normal, you shouldnt have any issues. my buddy got pulled over once when driving my old build/boosted EJ6 (y7 based). the cop didnt do anything (VA plates and my military stickers, though he isnt/wasnt mil) but tell him that the car needs to be checked cause it was "smoking" excessively for a civic.

I dont plan on driving much at all while i am out there, i have 2 cousins that i will be living with for the duration of the job and they know the area way better than i do, so i will let them drive. the civic is gonna be driven there and parked other than trips to the gas station here and there. I will be working with my cousins and traveling with them. So it is definitely not gonna be a daily driver. I doubt i will even go through a tank of gas during the few months i am gonna be there.

I am gonna spend the time there building either a motor for this civic or a motor for my 94 trans am or both depending on parts availability and pricing.
