i have a garret t3 turbo that has an internal wastegate can i just remove the wastgate actuator and use an external actuator or sould i just make a block off plate to cover the hole up in the manifold?

so its possible then to just remove the actuator and run external? and the turbo i have is oil and water cooled will my water pump give the turbo enough flow?

if you wana go external gate remove the actuator asembly and get the wastegate trap welded shut if you dont you gonna free boost and thats where the problems are gonna start

im just gonna leave it alone and if it ends up blowing up ill get a turbo to use with an external wastegate

Hey if you want to run more boost you can shorten the arm on the wastegate gate to help gain more boost, but there usually isn't much you can gain ( 1-5psi )

I didn't really want more boost just didn't know if external was more reliable or better controllable
