I have a custom exhaust off my old car, it was 2.5" piping crush bent as little as possible with a fart can, and resonator. Will I loose power with my z6? Will it help with gas milage? I will go turbo eventually so the piping will be put at some point, I just don't know if it will hurt anything now.

It will be fine. And as for turbo, that will be fine also. you only need like 3" if you are making some serious power.

Try it anyway. If it isn't good, the you'll know it for sure. No need to quess.

Well I didn't want to take the time to do it and have it negatively effect performance because the piping is to big.

Don't confuse backpressure vs. too large of a pipe.

Backpressure is bad, too large of a pipe is bad. They aren't the same thing.

id leave it until you actually turbo your car. you wont gain anything by putting it on.

what do you have now for exhaust. are you running a stock header. i think it would help over stock, but if you are already running 2.25", then it wouldnt help at all.

it will help you over your stock exhuast. and too large of a pipe actually creates backpressure, so its near the same thing.
