Looking for a little advice about swapping a D15A1 for a D16A6 for a 91 Civic intended for dirt racing. The engine needs to look original on the outside to follow the rulses but they never check the details. So can anyone tell me about swapping these motors and what I should do and expect. Also what is the best bang for the buck when comes to getting top performance out of the D16A6 engine. Any other tips for building a strong racer would be welcome.

mpfi swap first, or else the swap is useless

when you put it together, mill the head some, use a z6 gasket, and the exhaust manifold can be ported, same with the intake mani, be creative...

I am running a 1991 Civic Std HB.

The engine that I am installing is a D16A6 with the MPFI. Is that what you are telling me is the best way to go.

If I mill the head some will that mess up the cam gears and timing? What is different about the Z6 Gasket? How much more performance will that give me?

What about lightweight flywheels? Good or Bad. How about chipping?

Biggest question is will these motors swap without any problems?
