138whp baseline was with items that are listed as baseline above
150whp baseline was with items that are listed as final dyno run above.

I tuned the car two weekends ago. Car was tuned on 93 octane. Engine was breaking up very badly due to faulty obd0 to obd1 jumpers, we only manged a handful of clean passes on the dyno that we could dial the car in. It was breaking up randomly at all rpms, it also would not allow the engine to rev past 7k rpm. RyWire jumpers came in last week and cleared up the issue instantly, I will redial the car in very soon. Im sure there is power to be gained below 7k and well be able to tune past 7k.

Side note, my goal was 154 whp, reason for this i had a 1993 nissan nx2000 more then 10 years ago that i built and loved. its first set up was a all motor 10:1 redtop sr20de 2 liter twin cam motor with jwt s4 cams, full underdrive pullies, intake, header, exhaust, injectors and a tune. it was a blast. (i would go on to build that car for close to 10 years, multiple motors, turbo 400whp, all motor 250whp etc etc) oddly enough my friend who tuned the crx, ended up buying the same dyno i was on over 10 years ago, so its great for comparison !

Next I will be focusing in on the transmission, not sure wether ill be bulding the current one or trying to grab a dohc one. In either case a final drive and a lsd will be installed.

After i will focus on a better header and intake manifold.

You can view more pics, dyno videos on my instagram rustylcog is my handle.

Saw the pictures on IG . . . so clean. Looks fantastic.

Surprised these cams are making peak HP so low . . . I know you've got the distributor/wiring thing but it looks like the HP curve has already started to level off around ~6600.

Also interesting the 282 is smoking the webcam everywhere. Would have guess it would have been the otherway around considering the price. :)

id have to look at my buddys dyno whos running a 272 cam and compare. we both have our cams retarded two degrees, maybe i should try one one more degree. but yes, i was guessing it would be in the higher rpms.

but like i said, it was breaking up badly. only way to know for sure is when i go back to the dyno and dial it in one last time.

driving the car it feels great past 6500 all the way up to the factory 7200rpm.

does anyone have any dyno sheets with any all motor a6s peaking much higher ? curious what set up and what cam.

Regardless, the delta 282 cam was a great improvement.

Where did you get your single pulley crank? Or did you mill down a stocker?

Went to the dyno to re-dial in the upper rpm now that the RyWire jumpers cleared up all my issues.

With the cam gear retarded 6 degrees we ended up with 159whp 126wtq @7k rpm.

Beat my goal by 6whp so I couldnt be more happy. I have plenty of things in mind for more power, but im currently eyeing up a built tranny that will be perfect for the crx.

yes, that is the plan ;) . i believe with the the right parts and fuel i can make some significant gains. but this will all happen after the tranny.

Thanks guys!

Ive secured a si trans, zc dohc gear stack, ats 4.7 final and i will have a m-factory lsd installed. i will be having aquafina go over the trans, replace anything that needs to and he also media blasts the case.

i will install it as soon as i recieve it from aqua.

then i think i can take some time and just enjoy the car (as i have been) this winter i will add a custom header and a custom intake manifold or possibly itbs. it never stops lol.

Holy guacamole! I did not think this kind of power could be made from an NA D16.

Love the all-function setup you have going on, no flash or fluff on this thing.

Not sure whether to laugh or cry that your D16 makes more WTQ than my B18.

Keep up the good work.

keep in mind this is on a d16z6 intake setup.

there is more power to find!!!

I would not be surprised if you soon achieved 180whp

The new found hp and tq really makes the chassis and suspension shine. Looking foward to seeing how the built trans steps things up a notch.

ive always been function over form.

I plan on seeing this old girl through, the gears in my mind are always turning (couldnt stop them if I tried).

As always though, reliability and driveability are most important, but there are obvious areas were more power can be extracted.

ty guys.

simple edelbrock performerX install and retune will net you nearly 10whp over that suffocating d16z6
