Mid 2017 I ordered a kit on Amazon. Sold directly from Detroit Axle themselves. It was a little over $100 for 2 driveshafts and lower ball joints

About 15 months, one of the CV boots was showing signs of deterioration. With cracks turning into a full 360 rip causing grease to fling everywhere a few months later. Replaced it. Still running one of the Detroit Axle's today and it looks fine

A few hours ago I was pulling out of my driveway and the right side lower ball joint broke while I was in the road in front of my house. The lower knuckle was grinding riding the inside of the wheel. Good thing I wasn't going fast and was able to back up into my driveway with it like that

I just ordered the Hardrace (O.E. replacement) lower ball joints (pair) for $67

Don't cheap out on that critical piece of suspension. It could kill you

Also, 10 days ago I contacted "Detroit Axle" email support and never got a response

I learned a long time ago you have to spend money on your safety.
I had bought a full front end kit on ebay had uppers lower and ball joints for like $60.
I backed up maybe 10ft and the driver side front end dropped on me.
The ball joint had pulled through the lower control arm on the driver side.
I fought the car back onto the concrete pad where i was working on it.
Jacked the front end up and the passenger side ball joint stripped the threads about half way down.
Never again with I throw the cheap shit on the critical suspension components

back in 2007 I was building motored bicycles, cheap kits coming from China, I would throw most things out and put in better quality, like nuts, bolts, washers, cabling, and even these ball bearings that acted like a thrust bearing for the clutch. Their brand new ball bearing would not even roll straight.

I googled at the time to find out why and what is going on, everything made in China just simply does not last, ya have to buy again, and again and soon retailers all they had was made in fkn china from electric kettles to cars, and they were sent back btw.

There is lots on search in Google, "quality fade", how they fooled the world, if you ask them the make you something, the first batch is good, then over time they skim the quality, but not the price.

What happened is, globally many bought cheaper chinese made products, they got our money once, twice, three times cos simply they don't last. Where the old skool manufacturers went broke because they cost more, but lasted. The masses did not care, "save a penny and the dollars will follow", we once thought.

Now China has "stolen" the gold of the world with this deception
