ok well i think the starter is totally screwed - i feed 12v to it and i know i've grounded the other end but nothing happens at all?

are these easy to rebuild?

what has actually broken here?

DON'T use a hammer, the magnets in the starter are ceramic and will shatter occasionally (I say this mainly due to the fact that half the time people are told to tap on the starter solenoid they bang on the starter in general....) use a screwdriver handle....if it doesn't free it up, you'll probably need to replace the solenoid or the starter....if it does it'll work, and you may have to do it again sometime....<shrug>

the starter motor is from a carb transmissin

the flywheel is from a d15b vtec
