i never dealt with rwd sr20 trannys. but i did go threw alot of fwd trannys. many b13 sr20 trannys, prolly 3 of them. then i did a b13 sr20 tranny, shot peened/cyro-treated gears and a welded case, it held together good, but got fifth gear pop out. I then got a p11 tranny from a 2001 infiniti g20 wich had a lower final drive and longer gears, the gears were thickers and stacked tighter for strength. that held together great until the diff went, wich i swapped in from my built tranny. So the p11 trans held 400whp with out an issue for at least two years of heavy high way abuse.

From what ive learned with that car, its always better to spend the money up front on the best possible trans, then have to deal with repairing, rebuilding or swapping multiple trannys till you become fred up and shell out the money anyways.

what are the options for the rwd sr20 trans ? i cant say ive heard them having many issues.
