hello i have a 94 eg hatch with a d16y8 turbo pushing 12 psi. my problem is that when the motor starts bulding boost it sputters and stroggles to make 10 psi this dosent happen all the time thats what has me comfused anyone with a similar problem plz help.

specs
precision turbo
440 rc injectors
crower stage 2 turbo cam
ported & polished head
stock bottom end
arp head stud
cometic head gasket
tuned on chrome
fresh rebuilt motor has 60k
good compression

mine did this when my plugs were gapped at the .34 they came at

regapped to .28, problem went away

Im going to agree with spark plug gap. Same issue I had before I gapped to .028

also could be running to lean, one time i forgot to plug my wastegate back into the boost line and i overboosted my motor and it went hella lean and started bucking. also stock map is good for 11.5 psi if i remember right but i wouldnt take it over 11, are you getting a check engine light?

Sorry to revive a old thread but did this ever get fixed? I'm having the same problem. My car builds boost, but starts to cut out after about 5lbs.
eBay turbo kit. 10lb spring in wastgate
Tuned on s300
440 dsm bluetops
Gapped spark plugs to .20

Best to make your own thread.
And your need more information. What are the wideband readings when it does this.
