All right guys, you're seen my build thread (I hope) so this is the culmination of 52 days of an install. My D17 running the track on 9psi.

I didn't know how to drive it. I'd never been to a track before, as a driver or a spectator, my times suck, but fuck you if you don't like it. I had an absolute blast! This was literally the icing on the cake after spending so much time and money on this car.

And the best thing is.......I get to do it again and again!! Anyway, have a look, let me know what you think. I edited the video myself.

Weird. The embed code used to work. Here's the link to it:

Good video, only thing I have to say is you should keep both hands on the wheel and not act like your "just cruising" with your one hand slouched over the wheel and the other resting on the shifter.

then how do you plan on shifting gears?

WTF, what idiot was running the tree? As soon as someone lights the last stage beam the PRO TREE flashes.

Don/Steve, ever see anything like that?

^^^ Nope. Old ass Ford Escort Cosworth.

I would like to pick up a set of drag wheels and slicks, but I've got a laundry list of other stuff to take care of first. I've got a leaky exhaust with the catalyst element blown loose to be replaced with 3" from turbo to midpipe, no PS, an alternator that gets too hot, a catch can to make (VC breather filter lubes my windshield!), and a good adjustable FPR to buy (to finish my return conversion) before I go on to luxury purchases like slicks! It doesn't ever stop does it?

Yeah, I've been bit......bad.

Since I'm running a drag strip, there is no time to constantly bounce a hand back and forth between the shifter and the wheel. I can keep it pointed straight with one hand. That was not a slouch, that's where I like to keep my hand. It's the only spot on the steering wheel that is worn.

Thanks for the compliments folks, rest assured I'll working on everything between now and the next track day on 26 October!

Ya that's messed up. How are you supposed to get a decent launch like that?

Im not memorable. :(
Damn man, I'm actually truthfully sorry about that. I went through my build thread on the four different forums it's on and pulled everyone who had posted in it. Which was tedious because the one on civicforums is 77 pages long as of today. I just went back through and looked and saw yours from today, but that was it. Next time around man!

Thanks Haysoos and EJ8!

Yeah, I'm gonna blame my piss-poor times on those damn lights! Not that I have any idea how they are supposed to work, versus how they did work.

Just gotta figure out the launch. Every setup wants to launch differently. :TU:

I thought the lights on the tree were odd...

I normally have 1 hand on the wheel and 1 is holding the E-brake while I am pre-loading... Unless you are driving an automatic.... But with a stick , why would you have both hands on the wheel????
