Hi guys,

i was reading a lot about cams, stage1, 2, 3 etc..

the question is: why whit a stage 2 cam you dyno only 125hp?

with a 1.5 lsi vtec-e 114hp original, i put in a y8 STOCK cam and i run 130hp!

so what would be the gain in installing a stage2 cam?

sorry for explanation, hope you understood my question! :)

Your comparing flywheel horsepower to wheel horse power. Flywheel HP like Honda measures it is always higher than wheel horsepower.

my civic put down 110hp at the wheels stock, honda rated the motor as 130hp at the flywheel. the drive train (tranny) takes aways about 15% of the engines power.

generally people on here talk about there power being at the wheels as thats wheres its measured and to get flywheel horse power accuratly u need an engine dyno or to know the exact loss through the tranny

still an impressive pickup in hp just from a stock cam swap. change the fuel system over now and find another 10whp.
