I just had a few questions and was wondering if anyone has raced in a Scca solo race before. I have never been to one and plan on racing my car completly stock in the stock class. Any advice or suggestions. thanks

I just started this year and have been to about 4 events. Im still a noob by every standard. Your lucky in a sense, because youll be running in a stock class with more than likely new/rookie people as well. Im stuck in SM because my supercharger, which means im running with awd celicas, sti, evos.

My simple tips are:
Walk the course, more than once.
Participate in the newbie walk through if they have one as well, ours does. They will give you tips on corners etc.
First run is to learn the course, every run after that you should concentrate on shaving a few seconds, pushing harder and harder, while learning your cars dimensions and characterisitcs.
Check your tire psi, see what everyone else runs that have similar setup/vehicals.
Most importantly, keep your eyes on things coming up, not whats directly in front of you. I.E. prepare for your next turn, or straight, or whatever.

Im sure theres plenty more, if I come up with anything ill post them.

sparta speedway in kentucky first time never been hopefully i wont look like a ricer or a total noob but...
Quickest way to not feel uncomfortable is talk to other people there (if they arent dicks of course). Atleast in my area, usually aim for the older folks, and or perhapes persons who seem to be heavily "involved" into setting up and/or organizing everything.

And 2nd quickest way, doing course/corner work.

And one more piece of advice, try to keep her in one gear if you can, usually second. Depending on the course.

Good luck and update us ....
