The car will idle all day and not overheat. It doesn't overheat in the first ten or fifteen minutes of drivng either, but I'm guessing once it gets up to operating temp it and the thermostat opens is when it starts overheating and it makes no difference what speed or engine RPM .The temp just starts climbing and the only way to cool it off is to shut the car off.I believe the thermostat is good because when its hot there is pressure in both the upper and lower hoses.I am gonna remove it temporarily tho to try and narrow down the prob.I guess my question is:would this be caused by air in the cooling system or is my radiator bad.I'm not even considering the headgasket yet, just trying the easier fixes first, but it runs excellent even when its overheating,so I don't think the headgasket is bad.

OH yeah my fan is working

Thanks
