So what's the latest on auto performance mods?

Been a while since I've been interested, really, just doing the DD thing. Got a 97 EX coupe, and the auto trans is going down. Just slipping every once in a while. Leaks, too. I haven't made up my mind on what I'm going to do about it.

I know there were a few turbo auto guys here, anyone have experience with the IPT kits, and what kind of power are people running, and how's your tranny doing?

I'm lazy as fuck, that's why I drive an auto ;P

if you plan on going to turbo your car, swap to a 5 speed or sell and buy a 5 speed. you will thank me

i just did the conversion in march. it was the single best thing i had done to it, its not even that hard. the only reall fabrication you have to do it make a bracket to mount the shifter after you cut the hole for it. everything else is just bolt on.
yes definitley swap it to 5spd if youre looking to make any more power.
hmmm i dont recall him asking about a 5 speed swap.....

have you thought about adding a precsion torque converter, to maximize more of the power available....?

and what is the ipt kit....a shift kit, like the b and m's ?

whats your point? dont like what i typed? dont fucking read it.

well as we can see i dont have a problem with the reading, and the comprehension from reading....

you on the other hand had 2 post's with nothing useful to the OP.....
You can swap to a 5 speed if you want but you said your lazy and I doubt you wanna do all that labor. Like said above, it's not really hard but it can be time consuming if you don't know what you are doing.

If you want to turbo your car in the future there is nothing wrong with an automatic. Turbo automatics make more torque than a 5 speed anyway. But I think it's just more fun to control when you shift.

The decision is yours. If you don't want to do an auto to manual swap and are looking for a place to do it. GL HF... Cost about $1000-1500 at most places. Parts are aboure $500-1000 as well. Better off doing a 5speed swap yourself.
Really I thought there were a couple guys here who had tried levelten or IPT or something. Hrm. Maybe it was someplace else.

I was asking, mainly, about successes with strengthening the auto trans.

what you think is not useful to him could be useful to someone else. who knows if this kid understands that changing to 5 speed isnt expensive or even alot of work. with the amount of stupid posts about people who cant even swap on a fucking intake manifold, you never know. thats why i posted about the 5 speed conversion first.

i was in the same position as this guy last year, wondering about making the auto trans stronger. overall the 5 speed conversion i did was uber easy and cheaper than a level ten torque converter+rebuilding the auto trans with their shift kit.

Mostly I've just heard negative stuff about levelten.

Anyways, I just wanted to see if who I thought was here was here, and they aren't, obviously, so my questions will go unanswered, which is fine with me.

I just lack the willpower to be a pioneer.
no shame in being lazy.. am lazy guy #2 i've got an atx as well.. the only thing depressing about the tranny is the 2nd gear... but w/e i come from the atx dodge neon world so hookin up an atx is just doin something different than what anybody else is doin.. am goin N/A myself is there anyway to gain control of the first gear?
