brand new battery have tried 2
12.5 volts at battery/starter/and distroblock
when cranking drops to 9 volts
car runs fine when jumped it starts right up
all 4 gauge wire
grand is from tans to frame. and battery to rear bumper mount

car cranks slow by its self like a high comp v8

but odd i hooked the multi meter up so i could see numbers when i cranked it cranks a tiny faster and starts and sits at 12.8 volts

I dont think its the wire it self. wire im using is good for 135 amps and 600 volts.

im thinking maybe grounds??

look in my build thread you can see how slow it turns over
I watched it all ready...has the timing???? I'm just giving you some ideas as to what it could, not saying that any one if them will work or not..

ive done 8 cars like this and never had a problem..i am using 2 gauge wire though...
i know hundreds of people who use 4 gauge wire.

just thought of these to.
from battery to the disto block is all normal battery wire. but from the distro to the starter its silver tinned wire. think that might cause it?

try this, put the battery under the hood and hook up the starter with the factory wire if you have or use a new wire, then run a wire from the battery to the under hood fuse box...see if it still cranks slow...
