SOHC. The DOHC ZC is a great motor, but theres so much more support for the SOHCs (z6, y8, a6, etc) and I think you can't interchange as many parts to the ZC from other engines, whereas you can swap all kinds of parts between the SOHCs. Might be wrong about that tho.
ok guys.
the rsn i ask is , cause i've a crx and i'm goin to do a d16 swap.
it has come with a d15 engine and on most of the forums i read that the d15's not compatible engines are.
thus by no means a performance engine.
This is a very broadsweeping question.
First of all, what do you mean by "best":
Best HP?
Best MPG?
Best $$$?
Best aftermarket support?
Best tuneability?
Best for boost?
Best smelling?
The point is, you should know what your goals and budget are before deciding on a motor.
im dohc right now but i have love for the sohc still, so i say sohc...
this dohc motor i have just seam's to be heavy, i really like the way it pull's and sounds but i know you can get alot of power from a boosted sohc... i might build my y8 and throw it back in one day...:alky:
I love the DOHC but I would have to go with the SOHC. There is a lot more stuff for the SOHC.
