I'v extensively searched forms, shops and even asked around in person at some meets..I cannot find anyone who tunes Neptune RTP in Michigan!! I've also looked out of state(Indianan,Ohio,Illinois) and still couldn't i don't want to drive 4+ hours just to get a tune.
Am i missing any shops?
is Neptune RTP dead or what?
I choose Neptune over sc300 because well obviously its cheaper and somewhat better, if i cant find anyone it looks like im gonna be forced to buy hondata:no:

Short and Sweet Version: Does anyone near or in Michigan run Neptune and where did you get it tuned(dyno not street)

Call speedfactory and have them do a remote tune. Pretty awesome gig they got going on. You just need a laptop with wifi so they can remote into it. Then you just drive and run the controls as they direct you to

Really that's some good info, if I decide to keep my civic and pay for a tune I might hit them up. Do they take full control of your laptop and you just drive?

Email hrtuning I'm sure he can contact his dealers and get updated addresses

Yea, but you can't just drive it on the streets and hook up your laptop with Teamviewer. You need to be at a dyno and have Teamviewer on your laptop so they can control your laptop while your at the dyno. Sounds neato though... But if i was at a dyno wouldnt i have the guys there tune it?

Why couldn't you? Street tuning is same concept but they would be more conservative so you don't have knock. Would you take your windows pc to an apple specialist? Same concept for tuners, either they won't tune with what you have if they don't like the software or if they are not familiar enough with it (or even being a hondata dealer and won't cross the line to support another system).

Of course you are'nt gonna just WOT down the road before anything is tuned, Tuning is a tedious and long process which many variables need to be addressed, You build up Throttle position and RPM to get to the wot tuning.
they're called etunes i believe, you do simple shit like WOT 4th gear pull from 2500 to 6500 or maintain speed in 4th gear for a certain amount of time, Personally i would like a dyno tune if i build my engine, if i blow it up stock doing an etune i really wouldn't care many of my friends got etunes on they're teggis and rsx's you deff get super conservative tunes because you dont have a dyno to get Every single Variable Such as Load at certain rpm, You would Make more power on a dyno for sure but if your broke and have no tuner near you get an etune

They offer an ecu next where you street drive, log the file, email them, they change it, email it back, and so forth for street driving. However, when they take over your laptop and tune your car in real time, you need to be on the dyno. That tune is as good as if they were there locally tuning.

If I thought I would have enough business, I could do it as well. It cost a little bit to get the remote in software. Driving down the street only would work if you have good cell coverage and tethered into your laptop or had a cel network card.

I can't wrap my head around that, short of them making more money selling the other option, and I'm sorry you have to deal with it in your area.

I don't understand your logic here, people street tune all the time so what the difference between having the tuner there or not (besides not being able to clearly hear knock). Speedfactory is well known and I'm sure they know about where the timing needs to be to get good power and no knock. Have you ever seen a computer remotely controlled by someone else? It's like someone is sitting at the computer controlling it, with rtp you can see all motor parameters in the datalog so you can tune like you were in the car.

Sending a datalog and having them edit the map that way is much more iffy sounding. By far it's not the best solution but it's better than no tuning at all or blowing your motor up trying to learn.

Windows 7 professional/ultimate has remote software, I guess if you don't have pro/ultimate you can still control a desktop but I guess you can't have your desktop controlled by someone else. In other wards speedfactory doesn't need pro/ultimate to tune you but you need pro/ultimate or a remote "host" server to get tuned.
