Hey, this maybe be a Noob question but i am doing my first swap and need to know how to disconnect the shift linkage?? I know i am sposed to like smack the pin out, but it wouldn't go so i thought i would ask you all?? Thanks in advance

to remove the linkage from the transmission , pull the rubber remove the lock and pull the pin out with a punch , it will go out slowly

8mm punch owns for this along with a nice sized dead blow hammer.

air hammers work well also ;-)

there is a reason that this pin is referred to as "the bitch pin"

you definitely need a punch OR something shaped exactly like an 8mm punch. Then just tap tap tap until it comes out.

i removed the linkage with the transmission, instead of doing it while under the car.

then i just beat the hell out of it with a punch

since I didn't have the proper punch when I was in Idaho doing a swap...It took about 2 hours to hammer that bitch out with a screwdriver
