Going hard notching the block already haha, nice!
yeah ,once she's stripped down it's hard to not push it a little further ,...

trying to decide on what head gasket .
been looking at the proseal ,it sure looks promising but having a time finding a real one for under 300loons to me.

probably get an oem..

Anyone use a victor reinz mls on a turbo d?or turbo anything?

all this guy can talk about is conforming to head lift and extreme head lift situations, sounds good to me,
is he trying to trick me and there is actually no candy?
,
probably not available with wave stopper for the d..

61-10701-00
this one claims made in japan.
4 layer 0.049 thick..

now I don't know rock auto description claims but victor reinz site no..
Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Gaskets
  • Excellent durability and sealing, with no retorquing required
  • Ability to seal engine designs with less than ideal bolt loads
  • Featuring patented Wave-Stopper® technology
..
I have been led astray by others..

It sounds like pretty much all other MLS gasket rhetoric lol I'm sure they all work great until they don't!

ProSeal is the only one I know that has the folded stopper layer fire ring available for D series, for really high pinch around the chamber... all others are just embossment fire rings around the cylinder that do pretty good I guess, but you saw my Cometic with the cracked embossments due to head lift.

Unless Cometic has extended their MLX line up to include the D now, dont know, they didn't have it available yet when I was searching. Even called them to see if they'd make one for me!

Just did a search real quick, cocksuckers actually fucking offer it now:

Maybe you can source this guy for cheaper than a ProSeal! The MLX lineup has the folded layer you need for high seal.

Never heard of the Victor Reinz on a D, you'd be breaking new ground Rob! Throw the boost to it and see how she fares!

haha thats what I thought about the victor big talk, embossed layers isn't that how they are all made ,oh well

thanks man I will look into the cometic now.but 79mm bore?

I think I might try the vr just because it says made in japan on the mfg website ..maybe...

might just totally skip out and copper sparay a used oem ..bottom end will probably let go before the hg anyway..

decided to go for a nice quiet sunday morning drive to see if smokeY7 still ran ok after a long cold winter of sitting ,had the turbo turned down to about 24psi, little did I know I would end up in quebexico,

the victims Not one but two sti owners forced to hang their heads in shame as they both agreed to never speak of this horrible event to another living soul.

I wanted to cruise smell the spring air and relax but ol' Burns was hungry and just oil wasn't going to cut it this time.

As fate would have it I notice in my rear view two subaru enthusiasts come flying in from orbit with their hoodscoops, wings and clean clothes.

ended up racing both separately from a 80kmh roll, poor bastards.. .end of third the faster car was about 2 cars back the slower was 3 ..

so I guess it still runs ok .

Dont go Victor Riens, cheap shyt gasket blew in under 6k miles on my 9.98:1 na setup, that was fresh head and block surfacing with arp studs.
I love the port work😍 are you going to match the manifolds?
