As some of you know...im running a jdm d15b STOCK internals...whats the safe redline on this....ive heard 8.8k and my ecu will let me goto 9k but i have yet to push it past 7.7k cause 9 just seems crazy high for a sohc with stock internals

come on dude, search.


your car doesnt make power past your stock redline. thats why its there.


get a cam and springs then you can get a tune and take it higher and still make power

thats what i was thinking....my civic never seemed to make anything decent past 6.5 and this was the same at first....jeez cm....i shoulda just pm'd you lol

I agree. I would say redline is what stock says-7200rpm.
8500-9000 seems a little scary on stock motor.

like stated earlier-cam/springs/retainers/tune-redline will be higher with power made further into it

His car has no vtec yet pulls to 9000rpm's while he's beating 300+whp cars in races with his del-sol!

7200 is where my tired out Z6 quit making power with a short ram and a 2.5" crush bent exhaust. This IS according to a dyno...and at the time I ran it up to 7800 with totally stock internals all the time.
