I recently came accross a "JDM S20" transmission. I am lookin to make the auto to manual swap so I was wondering about this tranny. I have a d16Z6 in a Del Sol, will this tranny bolt up to it? And ANY other info about the S20 and the swap would be a HUGE help!!! Does a walkthrough exist?? :honda:

Are u sure S20 is JDM i thought that was a USDM 92-95 hyrdro tranny, the code on a 92-95 tranny will NOT tell you what model its from DX, Si etc....the only way to tell on those is to actually open them up and look at the insides (gears).....I could be wrong though....

actuall there is a cast in code on the box it will have a P20 and then A0000 or B0000 under it. The B0000 is the EX/Si Tranny. The only diff is the EX has a .702 5th and the Si has a .750. I'm installing a CRX Si 5th (.771) in my EX tranny that I'm building.

My JDM ZC (USDM Si equivalent) trans came with a barcode for S20 on it, and the stamping had EX/Si stamped on it.... and on the backside of the trans it was etched some jap writing and "ZC" in big letters.

The place I got the trans/engine from gets the motors/transmissions from Japan from a giant metal container...... they pull them, label them (my engine says "on 96" cause it came out of a JDM 96', the ecu, and the trans all had marks on em).

see the marking... it came on all my JDM equipment.

I do believe the S20 is USDM and JDM.... it just depends on the serial number, and the casting stamp.
