So i have a 94 civic EX coupe with D16z6 and i have a s20 but there a big grind in 3rd and 4th and the clutch is burnt so i bought a 00 Civic Ex S40 transmission and a Competition Stage 2 Clutch...The question is will it bolt right up?...Also is the S40 really from a D16Y8?

Yes, it'll bolt on without any issue. I believe the s40 just mean the tranny was from a 96-0 civic.

Fit, yes! But to tell if it's from a Y8, you'll need to look at the curcular casting mark/code near the filler plug on the side of the trans. It should read B000!

B000 is a way better tranny i love the gear ratio's. as Long as the car is just barely moving I can pop it in 2nd and go. Makes it easier for stop an go traffic cuz I only use 2nd and 3rd. I never use 1st unless my car is loaded with people or up a hill. As far as racing is concerned the gears are shorter so you accelerate faster. B000 for the win.

s20 B000 or s40 B000, either way you'll get the better gearing.

yeah you want the B000 it alot better tranny thatn the A000. Much more fun to drive.

Finally got my 1997 EX tranny into my 1994 EX. love it so far
