Scroll down for 5th/6th gen.

Info on that link is incorrect, esp in the 5g section.

Why you say? They copied my errors :)

5g vs. 6g EX trannys have the same gearing, 5g Si/EX 4 door got .750 5th gear.

I know the 5g -6g second gear are different, 1.900 vs. 1.909, but it isn't enough of a differnce to matter.

Where it all began.........

that was posted on WebTV before I moved to a PC in 97-98 :)

I know this is an old topic but please forgive me.

I currently drive a 1996 1.4iS Civic with an S40 tranny.
If i compare the gears with the L3 gearbox i drove before the S40 gears are much longer.

In the 4th gen Civic with D15B2 the engine made over 4000rpm when i was driving 120km/h, with the '96 1.4iS i the engine is making about 3200/3300 rpm on the same speed of 120km/h.

Can someone confirm what the gearratio's are from de 5G S20 gearbox and the S40 6G gearbox?
