Just back from our first race at the Madras / Chenai MMST race track. This is a fully blown high speed circuit.

Guess what we won both races. We set the fastest lap for the race weekend. And we smashed the Track Record. A big thanks to the D-Family. If your interested Ill post some videos and pictures.

Haven't slept since Wed. So will start uploading after I catch up on some sleep.

To start with here is the Track from Google Maps. So our resounding win at the smaller CBE track was not a flash in the pan. Nice to know we can win on any track big or small. Like last time. Walked away from the start. Caught up with the back markers and backed off.

The Suzuki vs Honda battle is over. We have closed that topic for good. Every Honda owner in India should be happy. That the suzuki domination of the Indian racing scene has come to an end. The other Honda's on the grid sadly didn't do so well.

Our driver just nailed it. The complete team worked like a Swiss clock. We had somebody sabotage our car by putting something into the tank. So we had to change filter/ injectors/ rail / FRP not sure what it was some black tar looking stuff. Sad that people will resort to stuff like this.

Special thanks to Bone I just realized how much he has helped me this past year. Shout out to Pranav / Cynide also thanks.

How do you like the engine note off my engine boys.

And the best part not a single Bisi Product. In the build. LOL
I know others are running his stuff. At least one tuner told me they where working with him.

Front facing Cam is boring cause it only shows an empty track in front of the car.
Also the only car on the grid not running ITBs. Im on a single OEM Honda TB. LOL Why ? Just cause they said it couldn't be done.

First of all, congrats! Secondly, very lol @ the Bisi remark.

That third gear! Man that thing is short, what are you using?! Also, what do you use for tuning in the series, is it unlimited or what?

We went faster than most of the cars in this round up.

Tuning is free. I tune with my own custom wide Band because I couldn't stand anything being sold in the market today. On the ECU side we run Neptune. The hanging and data logs that dont download is a bit frustrating at times. Other teams run Motec. WB and Motec ECU. Some run Haltech. All fancy stuff. Also the only car on the grid with single TB. Everybody else is on ITBs.

Gears no comment. But we no longer run the ZC box.
My personal target for the engine is to go faster than the Labo. By year end. Which means we need to find another 1-2 seconds only.
The Tyres are 17" slicks provided by the sponsor JK Tyre.

I dont wish to make any claims. You know what a shit storm that would create. Ill give you a hint. We run a 4.9FD and we hit the rev limiter in 5th very easy.
And we are on 17"
I can prove the car is doing more than 200 Kmph down the Kari straight. Not had time to get into the logs from this race. Ill sms you the numbers when I do.
Lets just say its the fastest car out there right now.

thanks Dan I was inspired by your build.

The more everybody says run ITBs the more Im convinced that I shouldn't.
Its not like we need to make more power. Also I still say a single TB which is setup right will perform better than ITBs. i.e. Proper intake length tuning etc.

Congrats on the win! Glad to see that your setup is running smoothly after the crap you were going through earlier.

That looks like a really fun track!! Hard on the brakes?

Do you have any videos facing forward? I'd love to check out the track going the other way around!

Congrats, Ron!

I wouldn't go with ITBs, or at least ITBs without a plenum. Not that I have as much experience building racing engines, but heck, a good ported OEM manifold has done very well on several cars that stay on the track for more than an hour or two. heh

I firmly believe that a well designed IR with a plenum and a single throttle body will make worthwhile power gains over ITBs unless the ITBs are rotary throttle type. The 4 throttle shafts and plates create turbulence and resistance in a critical flow area. A single throttle body creates similar turbulence but in a less critical place.

The only advantage of ITBs is a sharper throttle response as there is less volume between the throttle and the inlet valve.

A sheet metal manifold with short fat runners should work best.

A large plenum will give most power. A small plenum will give best response.
