My CRX has been up and running for about a year now, and I still have a rough idle. I'm running a D16a6 with a PM6 in a 91 CRX Hf with the latest version of turbo edit and no matter what I do I can't get it to smooth out. I've noticed lately, that it only runs rough when I turn on the heater fan or when the Rad fan kicks on. (basically when theres extra load on the alt. and the idle kicks down about 150 rpm.) When the fans are off it runs at about 900-1000 RPM and runs smooth as butter, but when the fans kick on the RPM drops to about 750-850 rpm and the engine seems to miss. Could this have something to do with the ELD? I think I read somewhere a long time ago that the HF had some different pins at the ECU for the shift light and ELD that had to be moved when installing the PM6. I can't find it anywhere now. For instance my check engine light comes on sometimes when I don't downshift soon enough. I shift and it goes away. It doesn't lope or rev at idle. No other issues, it just drops RPM and runs rough whith extra load. My TPS is at 0% at idle. My IACV is clean. Do I just need a higher amp alternator? Any input would be greatly appretiated! Thanks. Oh and by the way my previous issue with the turbo smoking is all taken care of! Thanks Greg!

Hey man, This is just a shot in the dark but I had a similar issue with my , of all things, wrx STI. I spent tons of money and time trying to firgure out the problem and it turned out to be a cloged fuel filter. It a 20$ replacement that may or may not help I would try it to see. Otherwise bleed or burp your coolant system.

Fast Idle Control Solenoid Valve on the CRX SI is run by the same wire as the HF shift light and the DX "Tandem control solenoid valve". It's B2 on the ECU or C452 #11 on the wiring diagrams. I have the diagrams.

I'm actually here because this site has really good trans tech, but I'm still searching on that and figured I'd give a help.

That solenoid must not be plugged. I converted DX to HF so I dont have that, but I can probably figure it's location if no one else does it first.

I'll post some wiring diagrams. Give me a few minutes.

Si "Fast Idle Control Solenoid Valve" C452/11

HF "Economy Driving Indicator Control" C452/11

DX "Tandem Valve Control Solenoid Valve Control" C452/11

C452/11 is ECU Pin B2 in the swap info and troubleshooting flowcharts... 2nd ECU connector, 1st peg on the left bottom.... double check that for me

I have found discrepancies in some parts of these diagrams, but i believe these to be correct.

I'm going back to trans part interchange searches. This seems too much like work... hell so does that. Damn. Glad i have beer.
