Can anyone tell me if the ring gap on a turbo motor should be std, or should it be a bit tighter or looser. If it should be anything other than std, how much tighter or looser should it be?

i will be using aria pistons if that matters.

thanks

.006 x bore = top ring gap and .0065 x bore for the second ring gap.
just so we are on the smae page.....................

std bore:

top ring (.006)(75) = .45mm

second ring (.0065)(75) = .4875mm

now my question is: is this the total ring gap or is it supposed to be .45mm "looser" or further apart from std. ring gap (im not sure if that question makes any sense, but i just want to be sure!!!)

thanks for the help

no no no

the .006 is inches, not mm. you need to convert your 75mm to a standard measurement

edit: 75 millimeters is equal to 2.95 inches.

.006 x 2.95 = .0177 - i ran .018"
.0065 x 2.95 = .019175 - i ran .020"

OH!!!:hammer: lol

That could have been bad huh!!

I thought that was really small!!! This is my first motor build so i didnt really know the difference. good thing i asked i guess.

but thanks for clearing it up.
