I am rebuilding a d16y8 motor with all stock parts because of my money situation but how many lbs of boost would be safe to push on the motor without possibly blowing the motor? a friend has a stock d16 and pushes 7lbs would that be safe or can i run more since its a fresh motor?

its going to be either 1psi or 50psi. Maybe 42lbs it seems to be the magic number.

Really tho. Search. And do your homework.
ill give you some hits tho.
PSI is not what breaks motors.
Small turbo pushes less cfm at higher psi, then a bigger turbo.
t2 turbo 5psi could be 1psi for a t3.

Now search and do homework.

You should probably stay under 10psi no matter what turbo you run. Do not go over 200hp or you'll break something (probably a rod). Tuning is the most important part of this, so don't skimp or it won't last.

good luck
