what if i ran the y8 head on the y7 block but still used the y7 intake manifold ... would i still feel gains?

the reason why im gonna use the y7 mani. is because i cant find a y8 mani.

I'd say it depends on the condition of the Y8 head you're putting on as compared to the Y7 you're taking off. If you did a valve job, mild port, and port matched the Y8 head to your Y7 IM, you should feel a gain. Most definitely when VTEC kicks in but don't expect your neck to snap back.

the y8 uses a 2 wire iacv, you might want to check that out before you run into some problems. Use a y8 intake manifold, dont half ass it. trust me, you will apreciate it in the end, btw, I am running a y8 head on a y7 block with a y8 intake mani.

yea no doubt. save up or keep a lookout for a Y8 manifold. they're out there, you just gotta look.

the y7 will not be the best choice. you can pick a y8 up on ebay for $20-$40

Almost anything is better than the Y7 IM. It will be a huge restriction!
Y8 or Z6 manifold will be much better. Z6 might be the best option, if you're to believe what some say.
And use the Z6/Y8 injectors! The Y7 only has around 190cc injectors, while the rest of the bunch has 240cc.

On an otherwise stock Y7, it's said that switching the IM has a noticeable effect.
So I will assume it will be even more so with a Y8 head.
