Hi, I am new to this site, and new to cars. I have a 1995 civic EX. I just bought and I have some trouble.

The car, I have gotten does NOT have timing belt cover. The timing belt is exposed as well as the cam sprocket. When I turn on the engine, the timing belt will slip out of the sprocket teeth a bit. Meaning that the timing belt would move to the right side a bit.

Is there a possibility the timing belt would fly off and destroy my head? or is it fine?

You're talking about just the upper cover...correct? I've ran my hatch for about 2 years w/o the upper. But you say the belt starts to "slip" off the cam pulley a bit? I'd check into the tensioner.
