hey guys I recently received an si tranny and after installing it on m ride discovered the input shaft bearing was shot so I pulled my transmission apart today everything went awesome until I was reinstalling the main shaft, essentially getting the shift forks to mate back with interlock. I removed both springs& bolts to make it easier. I got everything back sealed up but now I can't move through the gears. so tomorrow im tearing it back apart and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what the issue could be ? and does anyone have any specific info/ pics on this area because I couldn't find enough detail in the write up.

thanks guys!

You may have assembled it incorrectly or the trans had bent shift forks before you installed it. Dis assemble it and check it out

Ya I wouldn't doubt if it is just my error I just didn't have enough to go off of when I reassembled the shafts to the bell housing, so does anyone have any good pics of this? Or any good advice on how to properly align these?

Helms manual.

There are a number of things you could have done wrong. Need pictures to see what it is.

Z6hatch, Si (D) trans doesn't bend forks, it breaks them. Just an FYI.

Gimme your advice if ou don't mind. The z6 trans Is still in the car not the y8 I purchases

I just bought a y8 trans assuming it would fix my problems. I have problems getting into 1st gear at redlights and stop signs. It feels like it won't go into gear unless I force it and then it sometimes grinds. Or I can put it in 2nd so it'll actually go into 1st. Also this z6 trans has ISB noise which I don't believe is related. Any ideas? Trans also will grind into 2nd when normal quick shifting is applied at high rpm Sorry for thread Jack but I need assistance

ISB needs to be replaced and the CSB has probably walked out and needs to be pressed back in and staked.
