ive just been down the local breakers and they have some civic saloons and a prelude. what im looking at is the brake set up because im going to do a rear disc conversion to my ek hatch. does anybody know if the brakes from
1. a 94 prelude 2.3 vtec
2. a 5 door civic from 1994
3. a 5 door civic from 1996
will fit my ek 3 door hatch. im looking at getting the prelude brakes, im going to strip the entire set up from the prelude and fit them to my ek as long as it will work? any ideas?
if not what donor cars can i take the set up from?

well im in the uk too and had head about prelude brakes being fitted but had heard nothing detailed. if i took the full prelude setup would it work on my ek hatch? if not what would i need to do to make it work as most of the cars at the breakers had rear drums. what other donor cars could i opt for?

I've never heard of putting prelude brakes on the rear wheels.

although anything can be done, as long as you have the tools and time.

It's fairly common to run the 11" prelude rotors or VW Corrado G60 11" rotors up front w/ Acura NSX or Legend Calipers. You'll need Integra or EX hubs to fit the caliper over the 11" rotor. Also some machining of the caliper braket is nessesary, and redrilling the prelude rotors, the corrado uses a 4x100 bolt pattern.

for the rear, you should be able to fit most civics up. I've never messed with modifying rear brakes before though.

That's 11" prelude rotors redrilled (the earliest VTEC model) and Acura Legend Calipers.

well ive had a look around the breakers and it looks like the prelude brakes will be alot of hard work to fit to me yet the rover 216 gsi rear disc setup is a straight swap to my car (trailing arm unbolts and goes straight on my ek with no mods), all i need is hoses and cables for the handrake so im going to go down that route as it means i can still use discs and pads that are ment for the ek hatch anyway as rover use the same parts. cheers anyway guys, maybe i'll try the preludes up front.
