I say go with edelbrock intake manifold if you want to stay street legal, skunk2 for mild racing i think, from what i heard, venom is all out racing manifold. But for streetability, i would go with the edelbrock performer X specifically.

Since your Intake mani helps to determine where your powerband is going to be, it differs between manis... Low end - stock. Mid range - Skunk2 or Edelbrock. Upper RPM's - Venom or custom modified for larger plenum and shorter runners.

Where's YOUR powerband? ;)

well im definately looking for low end power. so if what u say is true about these mani's i would stay stock mani. would i loose low end if i port and polish?

Port and Polish? Port-Matching would be great for it... and cleaning out the factory casting bumps would improve flow a bit... but I'm not sure what you mean by port and polish...

for an N/A d series stock head and block its almost pointless to add an aftermarket IM
In most cases yes, but with heavier mods a new aftermarket IM would show quite a difference.
