I am building a d-series for a friend of mine. I have lots of b/h series motor building experiance.

Heres the deal....

SOHC zc block

d16z6 head

d16z6 headgasket

now the question is....waht timing belt do i use???? I tried a z6 timing belt but it was way too short, and with the zc timing belt, it seems to be too long ( I have to rotate the crank to put tension on the belt which throws the timing way out of wack)

Ive gotten to the point of it running now, but timing is off about a tooth. PLEASE ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

did you try putting tension on the belt before turning the crank... what I mean is put the belt on so its tight on the front and it'll be loose on the back side, then push the tensioner tight before spinning it, I ran into that problem with my set up of the y8 block z6 head, the z6 belt was too loose...
