WTF is up with this flange? will i be able to use this one?




on to the story, i found these on craigslist... picked them up for $40, no shaft play at all

these are internally wastegated turbos right? do i need to bypass that waste gate? if not what is it set at?


what kind of power are these capable of on a D16z6?

these are also oil cooled correct?


one more question, what size charge piping should i use with one of these turbos?

with one of those you dont need ibeams and vitaras. you would max one of those things out before you would need a built motor.

ok... so its good for a stock motor build, thats fine...

I however will be building my motor so i wont use it, ive got a buddy wanting to do a stock motor build so one will be perfect for him

talk about instant spool. power would run out very soon though.
id personally resell them and get something a bit bigger.
or do a twin turbo setup ;)

how hard would it be to do a twin turbo setup with something like this tho? and still be able to keep PS/AC?

LOL,
that would be some serious fabrications skills. maybe with one.
look for a greddy kit. people are always trying to up size from those, and theyre ac compatible i believe

a twin turbo wouldnt be a nightmare, just some custom fab work, but with the ps and ac...they might be hard due to no room.

whitey from HMT did a tt setup years ago that turned out pretty nice.
Abaz did one too but neither where ps/ac compatible

Use one, I wouldn't build a motor for one, you may get into the low 200s w/ one.
hrmmm... ill give you the funky flange one and a good batt to play with for a decent sized turbo for a midly built D16z6? ;)
