This may have been brought up before, but anywho;
(no evidence, just thinking about this)
the d16y5 is a lean burning motor, so it would make sense that the pistons in the y5 are designed to withstand the higher temperature.

These pistons are a good idea for a higher compression ratio (as opposed to vitaras) for better overall response. Mind you, this is regarding medium to low amounts of boost.

Has anyone had problems with the y5's pistons not performing well under boost?

Honda kept a uniform 4mm thickness on all their piston top that I have cut apart, even on the GX D16 LPG motor.
