i have a JDM D15B with a p08 in my cx hatch. i have to get a smog test soon and i need a USDM ECU. i heard that a D15B runs ok with a p28. if i wanted to make the switch, what else would i have to change besides the ECU? and how would i run my p08 map on the p28? do i need like a hondata system or something? enlighten me..lol

you need a whole P28 ecu, i do believe.
get chipped get a p28 base map for smog then switch back to the p08 after you get home...
Is it absolutely necessary to chipped the p28 when using with the d15b or can you just plug it and be done? If not waht will be the problem? Thanks . (Noob:p with 93 del sol si d16z6 - swaping in a d15b)
if your still running the single wire o2 that came with the D15B and you switch to a P28 your going to have to switch to a 4 wire 02

thats what i was thinking.. about the o2 sensor. so basically after i get the ecu..its just plug in and play?(with the new o2 sensor of course)
not exactly your going to have run some new wires to the ecu and get a 4 wire connector.
I'm going to use my z6 harness and sensors. So according to what you said it should be fine. Am i right? Thanks

if you already had the Z6 harness on then I would asume you already have the 4 wire 02 so then you wouldn't have to run wires
a stock p28 will run the engine, but i bet it won't pass smog. the p28 doesn't run a JDM d15b very well.

:hammer: p28 runs a d15b fine the p08 runs it better p28 is what you use to make it pass smog.

why are you swapping a z6 for a d15b?????

wht tha hell do you need to change anything???? the d15b is a smog legal replacement for 92-95s. as long as you still have all emissions controls for the cx on the d15b they aint shouldnt care that its vtec or not. unless you get a trip to the state ref, then you need to change it:beer:

in cali u have to have a usdm ecu... thats why im gonna switch it

yeah i know, you see my location???? re-read what i said, there are plenty of smog shops that know this is legal.
the d15b uses the z6 ecu p28 for smog. the only thing that isnt smoggable. well state refable. *made that up* is the intake manifold. purge control soleniod er sum shit. the only thing that needs to be changed. is the 2 wire to 4 wire o2 sensor. the p28 runs the d15b fine. and dont let anyone tell you otherwise. i guess the only better ecu is the jdm one the p70 er something. idk i had it but sold it for p28 for smog purposes

intake is smogable, since its only missing the set screw for the purge cut valve(JDM non-existant).
tap it and your done. cant agreee with you more, the p28 runs the d15b just fine. on a side note;Cory when are we drinknig some beers??
