Ok long story, my newly rebuilt d16z6 block seized, never even saw 5000 rpm, not sure what happened, but I'm not willing to wait for the guy that built it to find out. I figured I would order something to run until I can get it fixed, so I ordered a d15 vtec engine. Got a vtec-e, the importer says he'll give me a discount to keep it. My question.... will my d16y8 head bolt to this engine, and will it live for more than 5 minutes. I read an article about this engine, supposed to be rated @ 116 horse even though its all set up for economy. I even thought about running it as is, but vtec-e changeover occurs at 2500, not anywhere near 4000 plus that my ecu would activate.

The D15B VTEC JDM VTi uses the VTEC-E block anyway so it should work.

The ECU controls the VTEC crossover.
