sohc engine oilpan chart

always use the strainer that come with the pan... unless they are the same. I don't care about downpipe fitment...

88-95 = interchange
96-00 = interchange
01-05 = interchange

88-95 with 96-00 pan: need 96-00 oilpump and plug dipstick hole
88-95 with 01-05 pan: need 96-00 oilpump and plug dipstick hole

96-00 with 88-95 pan: need 88-95 oilpump and need to machine hole for dipstick
96-00 with 01-05 pan: bolt-on affair

01-05 with 88-95 pan: not sure...
01-05 with 96-00 pan: bolt-on affair

i decided to do that cause i read the d18y8 build and he said so for the 96-05 pan and today i try a y8 pan on a b7... work well but you need y8 pump (the 2 inner stud don't fit... so you either change pump or cut a little bit the pan!)

so if you have any other thing to say...

The oil pan from my d16a6 was not the same as my d16z6. the oil pick ups were different also. the d15 from my 92 civic had the same oil pan and pick up as the d16z6 but the d16a6 is definitely different

Good info, always seems hard to find stuff like this when you are in a hurry (like if you broke your oilpan for example, lol).

Good stuff! Just reassures me that I can use an old B8 pan on my recently acquired Z6 for my coupe! It has a stripped pan drain bolt...

Just FYI guys, I successfully transplanted a B8 oil pick-up & B8 pan onto a Z6. Reason was the Z6 pan had a horribly striped oil pan drain bolt.

my understanding is to use an obd2 pan/pump on an obd1 motor you also need the main seal bracket...
and you cant use an obd1 pump on an obd2 motor or you wont have a dipstick

This is my current issue , I installed Y8 oil pump and Aluminium oil pan, but accidently used A6 rear main seal housing.
now ,Its Leaks alot at rear due to (now, somewhat obvious) gap between oil pan and rear seal housing :tu:

Are there any differences between a d15b2 oil pan and a d16a6 oil pan? Any differences in the pickup tube? I'm trying to put a d15b2 oil pan on a JDM DOHC ZC, and I'm just wondering if it will work.
