hey people,

well ive just pulled 1000 miles on my fully built Z6 and i think the oil pressure is running high.

cold start is 95-100 psi
warm idle (75 degrees) 23psi with idle at 900-1000rpm

IIRC warm idle should be 8-10psi?

cheers.

longs as you have the proper restrictor for the turbo
no restrictor!

how is oil going to damage a steel ring? it wont.

but if your drain is not up to the task, the oil might back up and leak out the tiny gap on the oil ring seal :bigok:

5w30 on a 206k miles motor

Hot idle @ 750 rpms = 20 psi

2500 rpms on the highway = 70 psi

cold start = 85 psi.

i am running a restrictor on this motor, when i had this setup on my stock the oil pressure took a big dive so i wanted to be on the safe side, i would rather junk my turbo then my motor.

i just running a recon'd oil pump, no mods to it.
