I'm getting tired of researching about what clutch to use.. so I thought I'd ask the opinion of everyone!

d16z6 in a crx. Crx SI tranny.
what clutch kit would you guys recommend?

Im 100% positive that i'll never do more than i/h/e to this motor. Just dont want the clutch to slip on me.



I have to buy a clutch kit that matches the tranny correct?
but if i do that wont I need something rated for more hp? (since its not an crx si engine).

i thought we already covered this.

what year is your tranny?

and what year did the flywheel come off of?

88 si tranny is different.

and the 88-89 flywheel has a smaller surface area where the clutch touches.

i just kinda threw together the drivetrain on this car from what i had in spare parts. I first had a flywheel resurfaced, then later found out that the brand new OEM 88 DX clutch didn't fit properly on the little flywheel studs. So I found one that did fit the clutch (Im guessing its an 88 since it mated to the pressure plate??).

Not 100% sure about the tranny, I was just going to mock up the spline on my 88 clutch disc to see what year tranny it is.

so if I had an 88 si tranny, flywheel, and act clutch for that year (88 SI) would a stage 1 be enough to support the extra power from the z6?

Unless you plan to go over 160-175 hp, I would say that a stage 1 would do the job just fine. My friend has a stage 2 in his hatch with a Built B20 turbo and it held fine; that was over 400 wheel horsepower. YOu only really need to worry about initial holding power, since your Z6 isn't going to make the clutch slip once the clutch is fully engaged to the engine. Stage 1 will make your launch a lot better and your shifts will be very slightly more positive.
