OBD question...

674 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  darksyde
i am taking my build to the next stage and am trying to learn about tuning the ecu...

since i am starting with a clean slate, please excuse the ignorance, i was wondering if my 94 eg6 with a d16z6 motor had an obd ecu? i heard that obd ecu's are easier to tune & had more tuning potential...

if it is not an obd ecu is it possible to convert? would there be a benifit? just trying to learn and it seems that a bunch of people on these forums know a heck of a lot more than i do!!!

any help would b appreciated. thanks in advance!

do yo uknow what OBD stands for?
On board Diagnostic,
88-91=OBD0
92-94=OBD1
96-98=OBD2a
99-00=OBD2b
it is possible to convert your car to OBD 0 or OBD 2 but Your car is OBD 1.
Dont convert, it is better to stay OBD 1 because you have more tuning options to go with.
