So I'm trying to pass smog and a code popped up for a short in the wire for the first O2 sensor.. So I kinda fixed it and no codes popped up. But if I erase codes in the future "in case it comes back" would I pass smog or does the computer need time to register it first

Erasing the code also erases the "readiness flags", which is what the smog people look for. If those are not set and passed, you fail.

Once the CE has gone out, dont you have to go through a couple start up and shut downs to get it cleared from memory? I seem to remember that when I got my car on the road after 1.5 years and took it to the DEQ.

You clear the cel you clear the readyness.
Thats the only thing that they check for. If everything is ready then you pass.

getting everything to set is pretty easy for a honda. Just drive about 20 to 30miles street, freeway mix. and turn the ac on for a little bit and everything should set.

At lest i have always done this and gottten my cars to set in 30mins.
