Has anyone ever needed to have a block notched for not only the rod bolts…but the rods them selves as well? Quick question!

well the guy that did my engine (wiliams motorsports) said obviously they did the notching for the arp rod bolts BUT also had to do a small amount of work on the bottom girdle becaus eof how much wider the rods were than the stock? maybe he felt it was better to work on the block than shave the rods down? hmmm ? he is the builder not me?

yeah i would rather notch the block then try shaving off the rotating assembly... then you have to worry about rebalancing it. but yeah shaving off the block a bit so the rod bolts will clear is pretty common too.

my y7 girdle cleared my eagle arp bolts, by .016"

but the rods hit the bottom of the sleeve and require lots of notching there
