what a good birthday present! haha

So i took the plugs out to check the compression... checked it, 165 -170 okay fine, put the plugs back in and now no spark? Nothing looks broken on the distributor and ran perfectly before the compression test. Any help?

If you haven't read my other threads.... D16y8 with y7 internals and 120 miles on motor now. Thank You!

*The distributor IS getting power*

any CELs?

posibly icm?

could be an unplugged wire, or possibly the fuse you removed for the compression test...if you didn't remove the fuse check the box for a blown one

This happened to me with my VX. The coil went bad. Seems odd but when you think about it - it makes sense. The high voltage had nowhere to go so it arced inside the coil - destroying the enamel insulation on the wire.

Also known as letting your ignition system "run wild".

Your typical good Honda coil output is around the 30-45kV mark and that amount of electrical pressure can do magical things when it's allowed to go where it may.

P.S. It's quite an experience to have it go through you via an appendage too close to an arc point :pinch:

I had an ignition system on a running 2001 Accord arc to my finger one time through a cracked distributor housing. Good times

If you want some REAL fun, old style timing light, not the new stlke induction clamp on.

Catch someone with their bare stomach laying on the fender and disconnect the ground wire for the timing light from the battery.

It'll knock your dick stiff!
