I havent been able to find an answer to this ANYWHERE ive looked, hopefully you guys can help.

First off Im in CANADA.. so keep that in mind. Im considering a 95 civic CX - the owner is telling me it has a stock D15B7 installed.

When I search for that motor code it tells me the US version of the CX comes with a D15B8. THe difference is a fair amount of HP - 32 actually.

The owner says the Canadian CX is the same model as the US EX.. and so on.

Can anyone confirm any of this?? Or know some definitive way that I can figure it out.

Thanks!

the d15b7 (non-vtec 1.5L) came in DX and LX models in the U.S. 102 hp

the d16z6 (vtec 1.6L) came in EX and Si models in the U.S. ~130 hp (for those years)

not sure exactly what motor the CX had but they definitely are either rated at 102 hp or even LOWER.

Canada Honda fucked up all the model lines when compared to US models.

Canada didn't get the low powered D15B8 motor,

What is the VIN number? just need the first 11 digits.........

example: 2HGEH2236*S

I DID find a VIN decoder.. but all that it tells me is that its a 3dr 1.5 liter built in Canada. Nothing about the motor code.
